Quilt in a day

Over the weekend I talked to my mother-in-law and asked if she wanted to have a quilt made for my sister-in-law when she got home from her mission in Uruguay. She thought it would be a fun idea so on Saturday we went and got the flat quarters to make the quilt Turning 20. Maybe I was being a bit ambitious of me but I was able to sew the quilt top and later in the day we went over to my in-laws and we tied the quilt. Here is my quilt-in-a-day!! I love the colors and how it turned out. My mom said that she was amazed at how we ~ her kids ~ could just take on a project and go at it to get it until we get it done. Well, you are the one that taught us. We would go to bed on a Saturday night and on Easter morning, she would have two new dresses sewn for me and my sister. She is the one who taught me to work until it is done.

Because I can't afford to take the quilts in and have them machine quilted I do it my self. On the quilt I made for Paul a couple of years back, instead of tying it, I stitched by hand using a bigger stitch length. I love how it turned out. That is why I stitched both of these as well.

This is a quilt I have made for a friend of mine but have never gotten around to binding it. Now that I have two to do maybe that will help motivate me to get them done. The pattern for this one is Yellow Brick Road.

Ok, I know it has been awhile, but it has been crazy around here. Just last night I was over at my directors house ~ I am a beauty consultant for MK as well ~ and she had the cutest headband on with a flower. As we got talking I told her that I made beanies and found out that she made the headband and flower. I tried looking at some patterns for flowers ~ lets just say I am more of a visual learner instead of a pattern person when it comes to these flowers designs. Anyways, I am so excited, we are going to get together in the next little while so she can show me how she made the headbands and flowers and I will teach her how to make my beanies. I am so excited to finally learn how to do crocheted flowers, they will look so cute on the beanies.

Thank You Cards

I had a lot of fun designing the Valentine cards I decided to make some cards of my own. Over the last little while I have been wanting to create some personalized Thank You cards. I wanted to keep them simple but be sure that my personality was able to show in them as well.

Here they are. Each one has a different rendering or construction document on them of a project of mine from school. On in the inside is contact info and my name and logo on the back of the card. I have to say I am pretty excited about how they turned out. The goal is that when I send a Thank You, the image on the front will remind the recipient of my portfolio and keep me in the front of their mind when a position opens up.

Tell all those you care about just how much they mean to you. This is a fun and simple card to be able to do just that. The font was really fun to work with and adds a lot of character. Is there a specific sentiment that you would like?..... No problem. Just let me know at time of purchase and I would be happy to change the font of the card to whatever fits you. Simply stated on the inside 'Happy Valentines Day' leaving you room to write a note of your own.

Circle Recipe Cards

This set of 4x6 recipe cards were fun to create.

I use them all the time and my mom showed me a fun way to organize my recipes. She has a photo album for 4x6 picture slots and has organized her cards in there. It is fabulous way to keep everything in one spot.

The set comes in a package of 25. You can mix and match the colors how ever you want or request custom colors. Cards are printed on 110 lb Card Stock.

These make a great gift and are fun to have at events like bridal showers. I can also print double sided if more space is needed.

A Different Take

I have this card up for sell in my Etsy store. The lady who purchased it had a cute picture of her little baby boy but needed a different color other than orange ~ it would not work with her photo. This is what we came up with. I just wanted to show the difference just a couple of changes could make. The color was changed to red and a note was added to the bottom.
